Pricing
New families get a 7-day full-access preview, then $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr. Families who joined during early access keep their access.
- One subscription covers everyone in the family.
- No payment details are needed to start. The preview never turns into a paid plan by itself.
- Plans are bought inside the app and billed through the App Store.
What it does
- Photo and PDF to calendar. Take a photo, upload a PDF or spreadsheet, or paste text, and Calendara drafts the events it finds. You review the result before anything is saved.
- Two-way Google Calendar sync. Events you create or edit in either app show up in the other.
- Apple Calendar connection on iPhone. The Apple calendars you choose flow in, and family events appear in a "Calendara" calendar in Apple Calendar.
- One shared family calendar with a color for each member. A child or grandparent can be added by name, with no account.
- Shared shopping lists and to-do lists.
- Calendar sharing by link or QR code. Anyone with the link can view the calendar and subscribe to it from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook, with no account.
Good fit, and not a fit
Good fit
- Families on iPhone with a lot of paper and PDF schedules: school, sports, camps.
- Families already using Google Calendar or Apple Calendar who want one shared view.
Not a fit
- Households where the parent who organizes uses Android.
- Anyone who needs a web or desktop app.
- Families who want location sharing, budgeting, meal planning or recipes.
- Anyone looking for an app that stays free.
- Families who need a language other than English or who live outside the United States.
Limitations
- Android app: not available. Web app: not available. An Android family member can follow a shared calendar through a read-only link.
- iPad: runs the iPhone layout.
- Apple Calendar sync runs only while the app is open on the connected iPhone.
- Google Calendar sync does not carry deletions from Calendara to Google: an event deleted in Calendara stays in Google Calendar.
- Outlook: no sync. A shared calendar link can be added to Outlook as a read-only feed.
- Location sharing, budgeting, meal planning and recipes: not available.
- The AI can misread a photo. Every import shows a review screen before saving.
- Long files are cut short: a PDF is read up to its first 10 pages, and a large spreadsheet is read only in part.
- Language and market: English only, built for families in the United States.
Privacy and AI processing
- Photos and documents you import are sent to third-party AI services (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT) only so they can be read.
- The photo or document itself is not kept after processing. What was extracted from it, and details about the file such as its name, size and embedded metadata, stay stored with your account.
- Your content is not used to train general AI models.
- No ads. Your data is not sold and is not used to show you ads.
